The Fall, The Rise (TFTR) are a Birmingham, UK based 4-piece rock band. They consist of Martin, Steve, Richard and Simon. We like big riffs, cool Time signatures and catchy music. Think bands like Kerbdog, Cable, 90's Revolution Records bands with pop sensibilities and a healthy dose of metal.

Recording Tomorrow!
One day to go until we record. Exciting times!
We now have 11 songs by the way. Last Saturday's rehearsal produced a final "heavy" number which is sounding really promising. We'll finalise that one later on tonight I think!
Keep an eye on the blog for updates as we record!

Biography
The Fall, The Rise are 4 friends from Birmingham. They also play rock music. Together they have been peddling their tuneful, hard-edged wares for over 5 years, during which time they have released the well reviewed Interlopers:
"This is a pretty damn killer rock album with hints of At the Drive-In and Biffy Clyro" - Lights Go Out Zine
"…the Midlands quartet have managed to filter the history of post-hardcore into their own individual and impressive sound" - Sandman Magazine
"this band actually aren’t afraid to mix up old and current sounds, trendy and not trendy, cheap haircuts and ridiculously overpriced ones." - Punktastic.com
"The Fall, The Rise are a frighteningly good proposition" - Kerrang! Magazine
This is shortly to be followed by new album Standing On The Precipice.
The band’s goal is a simple one: Write music they enjoy playing. This invariably leads to songs dealing in quiet/loud dynamics, powerhouse drumming, fluid basslines, intricate guitar work and lyrics dealing with the fucked up human condition. The Fall, The Rise enjoy playing these songs so much, that they play them live in the hope others will like them too. Usually to half empty rooms. Those who are in attendance will find, however, that the band provide a high energy, intense live performance – These four friends care about the music they are crafting.
The Fall, The Rise hope you can take a little time out to listen to their music, enjoy it as much as they do and then come see them and make that room a little less empty. Thank you.

Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse
So with the Album sessions now less than a month away it's all business in the TFTR camp. Tonight we're in for some serious noise preparation. Album Opener and Closer seem to be set in stone now, the running order of the rest is up for debate. It's all solid stuff, looking forward to getting it "down" as they say. (don't know who they are).

Recording Booked
Hello there everyone. It's been a month or two since the last post so I thought I'd get my arse in gear and get something on here in the form of an update.
We've been busy writing away at our studio for a couple of months now and I think we're very nearly there with the new album. There are a couple of loose ends to tie up but to make it more official, we've booked 5 days in the studio from 15th - 19th April! The new album will most probably be 10 songs (...more if we're suddenly very prolific in the coming month) and is tentatively titled "Standing on the Precipice".
We did find time in the last month to venture out to Leamington Spa and 'test' these new songs in a live environment. I think it was the first set we've done in a long time where no songs from "Interlopers" were included. A milestone I think! All songs felt great to play and got a fantastic response from the very friendly Leamington types so we personally can't wait to hear them recorded.
Speak soon!

New Year, New Album
Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. Hopefully you've all overindulged over Christmas and had plenty of top prezzies from Santa. I know I did.
We had our first practice on Sunday after a week or two's break and it sounded good. We've got the majority of a new album written now and the new ideas are still coming fast. We've taken a look at a local studio we're going to be recording the album in so it's just a matter of time now. We're aiming for mid-March I think. Exciting!
In other news we've booked a gig in Royal Leamington Spa on 5th Feb at the Robins Well. Come down and say hello. We'd love to see your face.
